‘A Phenomenal Success’ The English Youth Ballet is an exciting and progressive company with eight professional principal artists in the leading roles with up to 100 young local dancers. THE NUTCRACKER SUITE Prince escorts Clara to the Kingdom of Sweets where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy. A divertissements of spectacular dances, each representing a sweet is given in her honour. The spectacular grand Sugar Plum pas de deux with the Prince brings the finale to a glorious close. BALLET ETUDES is a one act homage to classical ballet training. The rigours of the daily ballet class are given a theatrical spin from ballet exercises at the barre that ends with spectacular bravura displays in a grand finale. English Youth Ballet’s professional principals give virtuoso performances, backed up by a corps de ballet of talented local dancers and accompanied by the orchestration of the beautiful arrangements of Carl Czerny’s piano studies.
