Edwina Edwards began in the 1953 pantomime, Dick Whittington as a Lehmiski lady:
"The costumes were absolutely gorgeous and they were designed by Derek Salberg's wife, Joan. You had fittings, they used to do all the alterations-Aunty Ida in wardrobe. The costumes were lovely- satins and georgette and velvet. In Aladdin we had fans; they were all fluorescent with the stage blacked out.”
